The BNP is NOT the answer

Posted by Edmund Standing in May 2009

The British National Party (BNP), despite its current slippery attempts to avoid and hide the issue, is a racist party.

It's not just anti-immigration, or anti-EU, or anti-Islamic extremism, it's an ideologically racist party based on the central belief that only white people can be British and that British born non-white people can never be considered truly British, no matter how patriotic they are, and no matter how many generations of their family have lived and worked in Britain.

The BNP's Party Constitution specifically bars membership of the party to anyone who is not white. It defines a British person as follows:
the indigenous Anglo-Saxon, Celtic and Norse folk communities of Britain and those we regard as closely related and ethnically assimilated or assimilable aboriginal members of the European race also resident in Britain.

The BNP Constitution also states that the BNP is 'is wholly opposed to any form of racial integration between British and non-European peoples'.

So, according to the BNP, if you're not white you're not British. Even if a British citizen's family has lived in Britain for generations and they are as fully integrated and British as anyone else, the BNP still says that unless they have white skin they are not, and can never be, British.

In recent months, in the run up to the European Elections, the BNP has being doing its best to hide its racial ideology and to focus instead on people's fears about Islamic extremism, but it deliberately blows this issue completely out of proportion by implying that Britain is on the verge of being 'taken over' by Muslims.

This is total rubbish:
FACT: 92% of the British population is white, and only a tiny handful of them have converted to Islam - a drop in the ocean.
FACT: The results of a recent Gallup poll found that more than three quarters of British Muslims, 77 %, said they identified with Britain - which is higher than the British public as a whole (only 50% of non-Muslims said they 'identify with Britain').

The BNP doesn't care about people's legitimate concerns about immigration and Islam, it's simply jumping on the band wagon, trying to whip up fears in order to further its racial agenda.

This is exactly what Hitler did in Nazi Germany: he whipped up fears about a minority group - Jews - and used them as a scapegoat to get elected so he could promote his racial ideology.

Yes, there are problems in Britain today with immigration, asylum, and Islamic extremists, but backing a racist party like the BNP is not the answer and ultimately means you are voting against every non-white Briton in this country and for bigotry and social division.

If you are in any doubt as to the extremism just beneath the surface of the BNP, here are some previous writings of mine exposing the true face of the BNP:
